The GIS Laboratory of the University of Szeged (Hungary) will focus on the development of an historical land cover database that will be based on various spatial datasources such as: historical topographic maps, remote sensing data and orthophoto’s. The Research Group Physical and Regional Geography will focus on the development of land use scenario’s for different timeframes and the assessment of the environmental impact. Detailed soil maps and digital elevation models will be compiled by the Geological Institute of Hungary (MAFI).
